2020 THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT

May 2020. A time when we should be in Corfu Greece sailing in the Ionian Sea.

This year, with no international flights recently, we have been in "lockdown" in New Zealand as the world fights the outbreak of an infectious virus for which at present there is no known immediate cure.

As summer turned to autumn we enjoyed a wonderful period of weather. Cloudless blue skies and pleasant temperatures. A time when we had to stay inside in our "bubbles"
Now, as the days shorten and a wet week is forecast, we prepare to sally forth to explore the best of the Far North in a loan camper van. Thank you Diane - your generosity is much appreciated.

Day 1. We drive north inland from Warkworth where the camper van is stored to transfer all the gear we will need and get a run down on operations from the owner - Diane Wood.

And so that adventure continued - the subject of new beginnings and a new blog.
