Cleopatras Beach (Sehir Adalari) to Kormen Marina and Datca

All on the North side of Datca Peninsula.

Cleopatras Beach on the small island of Sedir Adasi was almost the furthest East we went on the Datca Peninsula. It is rumoured that Cleopatra had the sand shipped in from Africa.
We has been waiting for an area to open - Degirmen Buku - a series of bays including English Harbour. The whole bay had been closed by the Navy and Coast Guard as the Turkish president was in residence. He has a house there and is protected by a prohibited area  no anchoring permitted.
This was disappointing as with the name, history and sheltered bays it looked a pleasant area to explore.
We headed back further West to explore some of the areas we had missed on the way East.

Kesr - and the bays all began to look the same with pine trees down to the waters edge, but each had their charm and were well protected.

Yedi Adalar was delightful. An area sheltered by islands we spent the first night in a very pleasant bay with surf crashing on the protecting rocks and then hitting the beach behind us. we spent several days here enjoying the different anchorages. Only one restaurant in the bay but we did not make use of its facilities.

Several nice bays then followed as we made our way to Kormen Marina. One bay had cattle that crossed a small isthmus to an island, had a rest, then walked back to the mainland.

Kormen Marina.
We spent two nights here. I had hoped to "check out" of Turkey from here using an agent in Datca, but this was "impossible" We had to leave from Datca. It was windy while here and we waited for an opportunity to leave. We left with wind gusting to 20 knots. The nearby windfarm should have given us some idea of the prevailing conditions. However, once out of the marina and on our way, the wind decreased to 2 knots and we motored/sailed around to Datca where we tied to the town Quay in the evening.

Bloody Bureacracy - our agent took our papers and returned the next morning with our exit documents. No one came to check we actually existed. Why this could not have been done with a 20 minute car ride across the peninsula (Kormen to Datca) instead of a 7 hour sail is beyond me.
The cost of compliance is huge. I guess the cost of a fine if caught would be higher. Agents cost was 50E and made the process easy.

Datca is a delightful town with many waterfront restaurants.

As soon as we had our documents the next day. we left for Symi Greece only a short distance away.
