And On to Albania

With the courtesy of Panagiotis Katsouris I packed the outboard motor and stored it with my large suitcase at his workshop

This time by Euro Fast ferry (Dolphin)(Flying Pencil) I arrived again at Sarande where Jelja (Albanian Agent) arranged accommodation. I checked in and renewed my phone + internet connection all in a very short time. Too easy.

                                                                   The Dolphin
                                                                              Traveling Light

Accommodation was a 5 bed share with backpackers very close to the Port. That suited me and I stayed 2 nights. Continental Breakfast was included.

Beach BBQ provided by the hostel. Most backpackers attended
                                                        Breakfast - included watermelon

Next day I hired a 115cc step through scooter and set off for an ambitious circular ride to the old city of Gjirokaster and  the "Blue Eye"

The road took me over the hill out of Sarande and into a large valley

                                                               Overlooking Sarande
When this is the only sign seen for miles - you know you are lost

                                                                       A road sign

The road!?
                                                          Fairly common road side cafe

Ancient war relics. Again they are everywhere

Nearly there

Gjirokaster

An ancient fortress on the hill. Pleased I had the bike as access to the old town is very steep and cobbled
The "City of 1000 steps" - Ottoman style tower houses with stone roofs, wooden balconies and whitewashed stone walls. Plenty of stone around here
Gypsy camp just out of town

An interesting name. Almost Lobotomy

                                                                   Out and About
