Backpacking has advantage in random meeting with interesting people
In Podgorica I shared a room with a young French guy. He had been walking in the mountains of Albania before returning to Paris. This as after coming from Pnohm Penh Cambodia where he had ben working on a website for the S21 Museum. I have been to the Museum - a converted school used by the Khmer Rouge as a place of violent torture and death. It is graphic and confronting. To meet a French person helping Cambodia preserve it's history was a privilege.
Another bus ride - Podgorica to Kotor. Through mountainis countryside
Arriving in Kotor I checked my accommodation. Majki Apartments 4k out of town - so I got a local bus to a stop nearby on Google maps. The place didn't look right, so I crossed the road and waited for another local bus. All this in 40deg heat. There is supposed to be a bus every hour, but this is high tourist season. A young Turkish couple also waiting for over an hour organised taxi which we shared back to town.
I found my accomadation at the Majki guesthouse right near the centre of the old town. Could not have been more convenient and less than 1km from the bus station.
.Navigating around the old town was more difficult than the markets of Corfu. They are extensive narrow and no logical order
An evening in Perast _ Montenegro's loveliest town
